Commencement of market making operations
Westhouse Holdings plc (AIM:WHL), the integrated corporate finance and broking house focusing on small and mid-cap companies, is pleased to announce the commencement of trading of its market making desk today.
The Westhouse market making team will be led by Simon Doyle, who has also brought in two of his former colleagues to form the nucleus of the team. Simon is a highly experienced market trader who has worked in the City since 1978, initially with Wedd Durlacher Mordaunt and most recently establishing market making desks at Altium Capital in 1998 and Seymour Pierce in 2005.
Initially, Westhouse intends to make markets in its corporate clients as well as other selected companies that Westhouse covers through research.
The Company is also pleased to announce the appointment of Jeremy Chantry as Head of Research. Jeremy joined Westhouse in March 2010 and was previously at Religare Hichens Harrison where he was Head of Equity Research. He has been an equity research analyst since 1983, including with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, Credit Lyonnais and Collins Stewart.
Commenting, William Staple, Chief Executive, said: "The commencement of market making operations is an important step for Westhouse as we continue to build the business. As well as providing a new source of revenue, the market making desk will allow us to provide an increased level of service to both our institutional and corporate clients.
